Sydney- Coffee the size of your Head!

Barking Frog, Manly (Sydney) –
manly
I am going to shoot myself for telling you guys all about this place, but I do have such a hard time keeping such a good place secret. The Barking Frog is an absolutely gorgeous little café with a very French seaside town feel. This fantastic café that serves the most delicious coffee- in a bowl the size of your head…turns into one of Manly’s hottest dance spots for locals by night.

Talk about multifunction! The café is just at the end of the Corso at the ocean side, and few stores up to the north. The barking frog offers seating ranging from communal, couches (perfect for reading a book or magazine), little bistro tables tucked against window box seating, and lovely outdoor tables, that even in winter are pleasant to sit and gaze across the street at the turquois waters of Manly Beach and ooo ahhh, and OWWWW! at the surfers that are in the water year round. The dark wood floors and beautiful antique coffee bar make it homey, the location if fantastic, the coffee unbelievable, and everything on the menu is typical cafe prices but makes you point and say- “this one, no, this one, ooo read this one!” I must say the Italian eggs complete with sun dried tomatoes, cheese, leeks, and a gorgeous drizzle of olive oil is my favorite. (around $14).

Perfect place for nursing the morning after head, excellent people watching and sea gazing, and hey wear your “Cozzi” (swimsuit) and stroll across for a little sun and surf. This is not your noisy industrial “be seen” typical seaside tourist café.
