Australia’s peak season lasts from October to February. Both hotel prices and airfare to Australia see a hike.

However, because Australia is a very diverse country, home to a lot of different environments such as the world’s largest barrier reef, arid deserts, lush tropic forests, it becomes quite easy to plan a visit during the off-season, which lasts from June to September. Mostly Europeans and North Americans can really benefit from these vacations, saving a lot of money on plane tickets and accommodation.

A very popular vacation time is the Sydney Mardi Gras, which usually takes every year in February. In 2008, Mardi Gras starts on February 9 and ends on March 2.
