Wooloowin Open - Match II

T. Innes d. C Heidrich
6-2, 6-2, 6-2

Weather: Cloudy Temp: 21 degrees

The first rematch of 2003. Although having a rather lengthy session on the slops at the Sunnybank Rugby Club the day before Chris stated in his pre-match press conference (an ATP requirement, just ask Leyton Hewitt) that he was confident of placing a notch in the winners column for the first time this year.

Things didn’t start well for Chris, losing the best of 3 warm up and being invited to serve. The dominance of Toby’s all round game was there for all to see. Chris, constantly being punished by his own backhand, was at the mercy of the Wooloowin court, the large crowd and the cunning and guile of his opponent.

Following the straight sets defeat a spectator in the crowd was heard to say, “the scoreline was not a true reflection of the game. It should have been 6-0, 6-0, 6-0.”

If Chris is to be competitive in the next game he would not want to leave his game at home.
