Two sides of the coin

Great news for women’s basketball in Australia with the news that Lauren Jackson has been named MVP of the WNBA in the USA. The 22 year-old Opal star lead the league in scoring, and field-goals made, and finished fourth in rebounds per game.

On the other side of the coin, Socceroo Lucas Neill broke the leg of another player in a double footed, jump tackle of the most cynical kind. He then disputed the referee’s decision to send him off. If you watch the tackle on a reply, it’s just sickening. Neill says it wasn’t malicious, but he was not even close to playing the ball.
