Touch Footy

Just got home from playing some touch footy. Blood knackered too. Got that taste of blood at the back of the throat you always get when you’ve over exerted yourself. Been some time since I’ve run around at that intensity and I know I’ll be sore in places tomorrow. Been some time since I played touch too (maybe 7 years), so I’m sure I looked like a muppet out there. Hopefully the finer points of the game come back to me after a few games.

Good to be exercising again though. Now if I can just find a gym in Brisbane that will tell me how much it costs to join without making me sit through a 20 minute “interview”.

Well, I’m about to track down the same to start ‘kicky fighty’ [aka Tae Bo] again… I used to go to Thor’s [yes, nice name, not 'alf alluding to 'gym head' types - blaaaaargh!] in West End, a lot ‘cheaper’ and ‘chilled out’ and not ‘trendy’ y’know [surprising for West End I know, but it's the 'old school West End' crowd, not the newbies! I digress!]… but, w be looking for something closer to my neck of the woods - Greenslopes Gynaaaaaaaarzium anyone?! Or, maybe in town/nr work so I can scoot down after work - clearly I’ve thought this over thoroughly… ;-)
Point being, we can both be on the case, Chris, and find something suitable to both our needs, ja?! I wouldn’t go the Toowong route though - that reeks pretension just walking near the place!

Ging the fitness guru! [aka T.A.O.] Wooja figure it out! Can I post this dilemma for all of Boots to read seeing as you clearly need help?!

Dammit I will. Recently on AusBlog [see, the Aus truncation has weaved its ways again!] I called Chris ‘The Normal One’ so he has taken to signing off TNO… In response, I started signing off TAO and he has NOT been able to figure out what it stands for!!!!! Der. Can somebody please put him out of his pain! And mine!!!!

Well, I did come up with a list of potentials, but none of these were satisfactory: Angry, Aggro, Anxious, Australian, Aggravating, Academic, Amazon, Alcoholic. What’s left?

I let a couple of monkeys lead me around a sports center in Daly City once for over an houes without talking about price. They took me to an office, shut the door and said ‘what are your goals Nick?’ I said I want to weigh about 180lbs. The guy gets out his pens and paper and asks ‘what do you weigh now?’ I said ‘160lb’. He does the calculation on paper and looks at me ernestly…’Nick that means you’ll have to put on 20lbs, we can help you get where you wanna be.’

Short version: They wanted money, I said no. They said put down a deposit, I said I had not much money. They said use a credit card, I said ‘no have’. They said write a check, I said ‘ditto see above’. They asked for a small amount of money for good faith, $20, I said no. ‘What about $10?’…’no’. ‘$5?’…no. ‘$2′…’no’.

I walked out of their gymless but not penniless.
