Prince Charles to farewell Perth for Alice Springs

The Prince of Wales will travel to Alice Springs today, the second leg of his five-day Australian tour.

Prince Charles’ final official engagement in Perth was a function at Government House last night.

After mingling with about 250 invited guests, including tennis legend Margaret Court and author and comedian Ben Elton, he thanked the people of Perth for their hospitality saying he had many fond memories of Western Australia.

“These memories are of enormous importance to me, and also all the memories of all the kindness you’ve shown me, and the fun I’ve had in this part of the world,” Prince Charles said.
