Almost Famous, Part II

I posted just over a week ago about meeting John Long in Perth. I was watching a science program on the ABC last Thursday and was quite surprised to see his face on the telly.

Dr. Long was the palaeontologist responsible for extracting the most amazing discovery of his career. Deep in a cave in the Nullabor was a perfect skeleton of a marsupial lion.

He’s also something of an adventurer, having written a book and a TV series about the illegal fossil trade biz.
