It’s him, his guitar and his songs. Once upon a time he and his band sang them to tens of thousands of people at a time, in the US, Europe and then into South America. It was the right band with the right sound at the right time. Other bands, maybe more worthy, more creative, more ready, had tried the same route and failed.
