Corby “Extras”

So these aren’t directly related to the happenings in the Corby drama, but these articles are definitely spin offs. In Surfers know to lock their bags, the author uses the shitty and lazy lead of “WHEN it comes to international travel, the world’s best surfers learned long before the Schapelle Corby case that it pays to lock your bag.” Bag-wrapping service booms as travellers fear being next ‘mule’ is no big surprise, I must admit.

“somebody at a barbeque said the best thing to do was to send in some renegade sas boys in to get her out. its probably not the best thing to do politically but it seemed the spirit of the times and i thought it would make a good song. here is that story.”

I know for a fact that Australian Customs have had their eye on Corby for quite some time - not surprising as she has made some 30 trips to bali in the past 2 years. That’s more than once a month!! For a beauty therapy studnet?? She said she had not made a trip there for 5 years - crap as customs records show a totally different record (and I know who I believe). Based on this FACT her innocent plea is starting to look pretty shaky - let’s just say that it looks extremely suspicious to say the least. And what do people expect a drug mule to look like? They have to be able to deflect attention & what is more perfect than the tanned (albeit looking like it came from a bottle) blue-eyed pretty surfy-looking Aussie innocent? Highly suspect in my opinion. Even more maddening is the intense media attention given to this case when their outrage should be directed at Australia’s mandatory detention of assylum seekers - refugees innocent of any crime except trying to escape persecution in their homeland only to be locked away, sometimes in isolation, for years on end. Australia’s own gulag. After WWII, this sort of situation should never have occured. And how many of them incarcerated - they numer in the hundreds not tens of thousands!!! Incarcerated in total opposition to the treatment of refugee claimants laid down by the Human Rights Commission. And what of David Hicks, rotting in Guantanemo Bay for 3 years without charge. Add to this the nation’s greatest disgrace - its total dismal of the rights of the owners of the land, the Aboiginal community. The British invaded their land & forced them into a life that exposed them to alcohol & disease - things of which they had no exposure to. It has left a vast majority of the decimated local population (remeber the genocide of Tasmania Aborigines) devoid of hope. Look at this country’s history of death’s in custody. Amnesty International’s citings of human rights abuses in our own back yard are well documented - but, do they get the media attention they deserve? This country’s priorities in the field of human rights is appalling. Racism is growing throught the community once more with the furphy of “terrorism” being bandied about to instill fear in the masses. At this point in our current history I feel ashamed to be an Australian (and I am a descendant of convict stock so, please, don’t use that pathetic argument of “if you don’t like it here go back where you come from”. Bring on the political & social dissenters. Anarchy is looking really good from where I stand at present.
