Australia The Boots Boys in Australia

Happy Birthday…

…you auld bugger!

Today is Nick O’Neill’s birthday. Hopefully he’ll be pouring back a few (or several) cold Bintangs over there in Bali.

I’ll be sure to pour back a few comparable brews in your honour, mate. Cheers!

Clash of Cultures

What do you get when you have an Aussie wearing a kilt, topped with a sombrero, attending an Italian-Irish/Lithuanian wedding with an open bar in Chicago?

This is what you get…an El McAussie!

Thanks to Freesia for reminding me.

Water-skiing on the Brisbane River

Seeing as though it was Sean’s last day in Oz, we weren’t about to sit on our bums and just watch the cricket. Shaking off the couple of beers at the R.E. and Regatta pubs the night before, we kicked our arses at a RPM class at the gym, before coming back to the office to clear up some work and get Sean all packed up.

24

This summer’s hottest new show follows Sean Keener in his last 24 hours in Australia. Can our hero complete his mission before time runs out?

Will he suffer withdrawals of a winter without cricket?

Will he survive the fearsome Aussie wildlife?

Will he be able to smuggle enough Vegemite (for Nick) and Tim-Tam’s into his carry-on to get him through until his next visit?

Will he be detained at Portland (tofu capital) airport for having too much red meat in his bloodstream?

All these questions and more will be answered as we countdown 24.

BootsnAll Meeting in Brisbane

It was long overdue, but we finally had a BootsnAll Brisbane meeting that was planned more than a day in advance. As a result, we got a good turn out and it was a great night.

Even the heavy rain of the last few days did not deter folks from wandering down (most came after work in the city) to the Down Under Bar at the Palace Backpackers. When Sean and I arrived around 6pm, Ging and Janita were already there. We quickly moved to a table and heard some more stories from Ging’s recent trip to Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam. Photos were produced and we pored over those as well.

My Thai Restaurant and Original BootBoy

After the excitement of water-skiing, it was back to the house to clean up and get ready for a quiet night out of dinner, a few drinks and some pool at an Irish pub in the Valley called Dooley’s. A quiet night because we had to be up at 4am (for Sean, I wasn’t gettin’ up til at least 5am) to get Sean to the airport on time.

Final SEKeener Post from Oz

In the next 5 days, I will spend about 40 hours on airplanes as I make my way back to Portland, Oregon from Brisbane Australia. Not looking forward to all this flying, and a bit sad that the trip is over, but also ready to tackle some new challenges….

Recap of Birthday and other stuff

Chris and I have been busy at work these past few weeks believe it or not. That is why our blogging has been a bit light. Many folks have said it before, but I’ll say it again. The busier I am, the less I blog. And Vice Versa.

My trip to Australia is wrapping up in the next few days and I am sad to be leaving. Sunday morning my flight for Bali leaves and I will spend 3 days in Bali (Nick has scheduled meetings for us) and then back to the US of A winter. The most exciting part of returning home is that I get to see me mum and pops, friends, and 2 new employees are starting at BootsnAll in our Portland office. I am excited to to work with them both and try my best to give them every opportunity to have fun and be a success in working for BootsnAll.

I have been bringing my digital camera to most places and events It is small, I figure, what the hell..bring it along and Chris and I are always happy that I did. When I download the pictures, like I did today, I get a pictoral gallery of what happened and it makes me remember, then smile. Here are some of the stories and pictures from this time.
