The Hunter Valley, Branxton Hotel

dsc002161.thumbnail.JPGThe Hunter Valley is a well known wine, coal mining, and race horse breeding area about 2 .5 hours north of Sydney. Sydney- Northern Beaches- The Arms

The Newport Arms is a Northern Beaches institution. A massive rambling “Hotel” or huge pub/bistro. ‘The Arms’ also has accommodation and overlooks Pittwater Bay on the west side of the Northern Beaches Penninsula. An ideal spot for Sunday Afternoon drinks, the outdoor area is enjoyable.

Half way between Darwin and Jabiru, Mary River YHA is about 1 km before you reach the Bark Hut.

The township is little more than a jumping off point for package tours and its amenities are basically limited to a Caravan Parks, a hotel, a travel agent, Council Office, Grocery Store, Café and Gas Station.

The problem has garnered the most attention in Sydney but Melbourne and Brisbane (which have extra apartments) are now starting to feel the pinch.
