Cheap Hostels in Airlie Beach

In case you’re not much of a big spender on the road, Airlie Beach has plenty of cheap hostels to choose from for those making their way to the Whitsunday Islands.

Choosing hostels as your accommodation option is much different than hotels in Airlie Beach, but the advantages are definitely something to be weighed. Hostels generally have a very cheap price tag since rates run per bed, and that gives you more money to travel, sail and go out at night. Hostels also make for great places to meet other travelers and backpackers, which is especially nice for those traveling alone. There are common areas where travelers congregate, play games, watch TV, eat and drink — sometimes there are pools, or maybe just pool tables.

There are hostels in Airlie Beach just near the water — but I guess not much is far from the water in Airlie!

Once you get settled, many travelers make their plans for sailing the Whitsundays, work on their tans or go on beach walks. If you haven’t taken up surfing before, then it’s always an option. Otherwise, sea kayaking or taking a trip out to Reefworld are other water activities on the list of things to do in Airlie Beach. Airlie Beach, despite the name, has more than just beach to offer. It has a tropical, relaxed atmosphere with breezy cool places to eat and drink on the esplanade and nearby falls to visit when the time is right.
